PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

The prayers on this Web Site are mostly the traditional prayers that have been passed down from generation to generation. They are prayers that most older Catholic women ‘knew by heart’ but often those under fifty have never heard. The prayer to the Holy Spirit is a classic example.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

Let us pray: O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant that, by the gift of the same Spirit, we may be always truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen
